Accidentally in Code

My name is Cate Huston. I’m 24, and a Masters Student in Computer Science at the University of Ottawa. I’m originally from the UK, and got my BSc (hons) from the University of Edinburgh. In between, I worked in the US as a programming instructor, trained in martial arts in China and qualified as a ski instructor (CSIA Level 2). Last summer I was working in Shanghai, again as a programming instructor.  I also developed the programming curriculum that was taught across the US and in Shanghai. Currently, I TA CSI 1706 (“Éléments de programmation pour la gestion”).

This blog is mostly about topics that arise from my research, which is mostly about Social Networking and Web 2.0, for the reasoning behind the naming, see this post. I spend a lot of time thinking about, writing about and using Twitter – I’m @kittenthebad.

I’m also President of the Women in Science and Engineering uOttawa Chapter. You can find out more about what we do on our blog, twitter, and through our Facebook group.

Connect with me on Twitter, Brazen Careerist, or LinkedIn.
